‘Up-close and Personal        What’s in Your Garden?
       


Here are the classes and updated rules for the 2008 Photography Contest. Please read them carefully before you  prepare your entry.  The deadline for entry is December 15, 2008.  Mail your entries to the OAGC Media Chairman, Susy Spence, 125 E. Sharon Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45246.


 Adult Classes

1. Crocus
2. Daffodil
3. Iris
4. Daylily
5. Sunflower
6. Dahlia
7. Corn
8. Squash
9. Gourd
10. Kale

Junior Classes

1. Marigold

2. Tomato

3. Zinnia

4. Cacti/Succulent


 

Rules & Guidelines

1. All entries must be postmarked by the deadline, December 15, 2008.
2. This issue of the rules supersedes all other issues of the rules, as approved by the OAGC Executive Board.
3. The contest is limited to photographs taken by members of OAGC.
4. All winning photos become the property of OAGC and will not be returned. Non-winners can be picked at convention or from RD.
5. Photographs are limited to 5 entries per class.
6. Photographs do not have to have been taken during the current year.
7. A photograph may be entered in only one class.
8. All photos must be marked with the contest class number, variety name (if appropriate), and the name, address, region and garden club of the photographer. Do not write on the back of the photo. It is best if you use a return address label with your garden club information added,  or attach a post-it.
9. All photos are to be 4 x 6.
10. No frames or mats may be used.
11. Judging will be done by a competent, experienced photographer, not the Media Chairman.
12. Certificates/cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and HM in each class and overall.
13. Awards may be omitted in any class at the discretion of the judge.
14. Scorecard: Photography 50%
                         Composition, Design and Interpretation 50%
15. Entrants of 20 photos will receive a certificate for a free slide/video/DVD rental.
16. Entries should be well packed (cardboard helps prevent bends) and marked PHOTOS-DO NOT BEND.
17. ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY DECEMBER 15, 2008
