Helping You “Get the Word Out” Nancie Cochensparger, Publicity Chair If you are a new publicity chair, you’ll no doubt find the deadlines for submitting information to The Garden Path somewhat confusing. You aren’t alone! While the dates generally appear in every issue, here they are again: January 1 – Spring issue (Apr-May-June)April 1 – Summer issue (Jul-Aug-Sept) August 1 – Autumn issue (Oct-Nov-Dec) October 1 – Winter issue (Jan-Feb-Mar) Mark these deadlines for Via the Grapevine, In Memoriam and Stepping Stones on your calendar more than once and well in advance. Submitting club information to Via the Grapevine is optional, but it’s one way to score a point if you enter the Publicity Book Contest, as well as share with other members across the state what your club is doing. And please don’t forget to include your region, club name and the name of the person to contact, along with phone number and/or e-mail. Remember, the main purpose of publicity is to “get the word out” in your community about your club and OAGC! |
